Kumihimo Double Density Disks are made of 3/4″ (20mm) thick
foam—double the thickness of our standard kumihimo disks!
The additional tension created by the increased thickness is useful when braiding Tex 135 S-Lon, #12 Pearle silk, and 30G (or smaller) wire.
The large disk (KD606, KD607) is 6″ in diameter, and the Kumihimo Double Density Mini Disk (KD608, KD609) is 4-1/4″ in diameter. Both are compatible with our Kumi Handle (KDHOLD). Both disk packages include illustrated braiding instructions. In addition, the large disk includes three project ideas, and the mini disk includes one project idea.

Choose from two sizes:
Regular (about 3 oz./87gm) and Lite (about 1.6oz./45gm).
The light weight is great for 8 strands of 1mm cord or smaller (such as braiding a beaded necklace), or 16 strands of beading cord. The medium weight is for thicker (1.5mm) or a greater number of strands. Both sizes are small enough to fit through the center of your Kumihimo braiding disk.
